Dürer ‘s work is that of an intellectual: paintings, prints, anatomy books , prose , essays …

A self- test on aesthetics, which Dürer worked between 1512 and 1528 , and this is where we meet his theories on the “ideal beauty ” . Dürer rejected the concept of objective beauty of Alberti , proposing a relativist notion of beauty based on variety. However, Dürer still believed that truth was hidden within nature, and that there were rules which ordered beauty, even though it was difficult to define the criteria of this code.

Dürer ‘s work on human proportions is called the Four Books of Human Proportion . The first book was mainly composed between 1512-1513 and completed by 1523 , which shows five different types of male and female figures.
