Pablo Picasso Virtual
Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born in Málaga on October 25, 1881, and died in Mougins, France, on April 8, 1973. He trained in drawing and painting in Málaga, A Coruña, Barcelona and Madrid before developing much of his career in France from the beginning of the twentieth century.
His work encompassed the Blue and Rose periods, the invention of Cubism with Georges Braque, collage, assembled sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and sustained reinterpretations of artistic tradition. Guernica, painted in 1937 after the bombing of the Basque town, became a universal image against violence inflicted on civilians. This experience considers both the magnitude of his art and a critical examination of documented power relations and harm in his personal life.
